About the opportunity
PQE Partners is working on a newly created opportunity with an ASX-listed financial services organisation undergoing significant operational and risk transformation, including the embedding of enhanced risk and control frameworks within the business.
This role sits within the business and is designed for someone coming from an operations background who is looking to step into risk. You’ll work closely with frontline teams to support how risk and controls are embedded into day-to-day processes, rather than operating in a purely advisory or oversight capacity.
It’s a strong opportunity to build hands-on experience across risk, controls and incident management in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification and assessment of risks across operational processes
- Assist with the design and implementation of controls to improve risk outcomes
- Perform control testing and support ongoing monitoring of control effectiveness
- Support incident management activities, including root cause analysis and action tracking
- Maintain and update risk registers, documentation and reporting
- Work closely with frontline teams to identify risks and opportunities for process improvement
- Contribute to broader risk uplift and transformation initiatives
- Background in operations within financial services or a similar regulated environment
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in risk, controls or process improvement
- Exposure to QA, controls, incidents or compliance is beneficial but not essential
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with stakeholders
- Keen to step into a Line 1 risk role and build a career in this space
- Opportunity to step into a dedicated Line 1 risk role from operations
