PQE Partners are partnering with a high-profile property development client seeking a Legal Counsel to join their close-knit legal team. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the General Counsel in a dynamic, fast-paced business that is reshaping the residential land development landscape across Australia.

With over $1B in completed projects and a further $1.6B in the pipeline, this is a growth-focused business offering genuine career development for a hands-on and strategic lawyer.

Key Responsibilities
As Legal Counsel, you will act as a key advisor to the business, supporting commercial transactions and risk management across a range of areas, including:
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts relating to construction, real estate development, project funding and joint ventures
  • Advising on development finance, including lending arrangements, securities and funding structures
  • Supporting deal execution – helping to structure deals, manage risks, and facilitate settlements
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and liaising with external counsel
  • Providing advice on commercial disputes, primarily pre-litigation and risk mitigation
  • Supporting corporate compliance, governance, and legal documentation processes
About You
You will ideally have:
  • 3–5 years’ PQE, admitted to practise in NSW
  • Previous in-house experience at a property developer or construction company is highly regarded
  • Alternatively, experience gained in private practice in construction law, real estate development, or development finance
  • A strong commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities across complex transactions
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and an interest in how legal advice supports commercial outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative working style
