PQE Partners is working on a newly created opportunity with an ASX-listed financial services organisation undergoing significant operational and risk transformation, including the embedding of enhanced risk and regulatory frameworks within the business.
This role sits within the business, partnering closely with operations and senior stakeholders to strengthen how risk is managed day-to-day. It offers a genuine opportunity to shape and embed controls in a growing environment, rather than simply oversee them.

This role sits within the business, partnering closely with operations and senior stakeholders to strengthen how risk is managed day-to-day. It offers a genuine opportunity to shape and embed controls in a growing environment, rather than simply oversee them.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operations teams to identify, assess and manage risks across core business processes
- Design and implement controls, ensuring they are practical and embedded effectively into the business
- Manage operational incidents end-to-end, including root cause analysis and remediation
- Support risk uplift initiatives and change programmes, ensuring risks are appropriately considered and managed
- Build strong relationships across the business to foster a proactive risk culture
About You
- Experience in risk, controls, or operational risk within financial services
- Strong understanding of control design, testing, and risk frameworks
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, business-facing role rather than a purely advisory position
- Experience in supervision or team leadership, or readiness to step into a small team management role as the function continues to grow
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders and influence outcomes in a practical, commercial way
- Exposure to regulatory or compliance frameworks (e.g. AML/CTF) would be beneficial but is not essential
